Cyclists Can Ride Side by Side

Riding side by side has been a topic of discussion for some time, with debate between drivers and cyclists on who has more right to the road. The Highway Code concludes the debate once and for all by stating that cyclists should ride on busy or narrow streets in single file. However, they can ride two abreast when there is room as long as it does not impede other traffic.

Remember though, if you are riding two abreast and an HGV wants to overtake, it’s best to move over so they can do so safely – your life is worth more than holding up a truck for half a mile!
